FTP

ftp (file transfer protocol) is a utility to moving files from one machine to another.

ftp <remotehost>

begins an ftp session on remote machine remotehost. You will be prompted for a password. Once in ftp, you can enter the following commands:

dir <filename>

lists files in the current directory

cd <directoryname>

changes default directory

get, put <filename>

copies a file from one machine to the other. (mget, mput, move multiple file)

quit

leaves ftp and returns to local host
